I find myself lost in wondrous thought
About how you/'/ve sparked my interest
Something that most of the others cannot do

You don/'/t know me yet I feel as if I know you
Every interview and movie I have immersed myself in
Has carried me closer to the island of you
One I wouldn/'/t mind remaining isolated on

Yet the sun is beating ever stronger
Reality sets in while she still has her say
To swim back home seems impossible still
Oh goodness what am I ever to do

Float, I hear a deep, familiar voice say
Startled I turn and behold your tall, dark image
The moment I/'/ve dreamed of nearly every day
Has finally come to fruition

Aware of my nerves you calmly walk beside me
At the shore you assure me that my drifting away is not farewell
Rather that my chance of saying hello is more likely
Perhaps I shall meet you on the other side, you say

Stepping into the water of cold reality
I give you my most sincere wishes of good
For I find your soul invaluable and your welfare priceless
So much more I long to say as I lay atop the clear surface

The beautiful, blue sky is now all I see
I tell myself what will be will be
I send a prayer of thanks to Jesus
For redirecting my gaze to the One I am truly capable of knowing

Staring at my opened laptop I see the latest interview ended
I click the red X and shut the whole thing down
Knowing that only so much time and energy can be allotted to one out of reach
Yet one in my heart that I truly yearned to have reached

Your write proves that fantasy can be pretty realistic at times. You have taken us on an escape, drawing us into your tale of sweet hope and affection. Lucky fellow to have your devotion set upon his table!
The seduction of make believe is that it only has one dimension, and you have left us wondering if he will ever know!

The allure of fantasy, the daydream, the what ifs and might have beens can be quite strong. To love and want from afar is part of human nature. Making that love or want become reality can be frightening. It seems to me you have your emotions in check the way only a wise person is capable of.
I truly enjoyed this write of yours.

Very well done
Barkeep! Give the Lady anything she wants
