We each have our opinions of what we see and hear;
But we seldom share them out of courtesy or fear.

As children we were honest, and spoke up openly;
But as we grew, our voice withdrew; to suit society.

Were popular with others when our truth stays on its shelf;
Acceptable to everyone alas, except ourself.

Truth right here. I’ve lost count of how many times I held my tongue over controversies, matters that would inevitably bring out conflict in a conversation. Even though it is wise to do so when you’re trying to keep peace, it does feel unjust that your opinion is being stifled at the other’s expense. Great work,

Society makes us fear voicing an opinion, because we are damned for daring to suggestion anything that deviates from the "accepted " norms
Humanity has become stale and robotic because of it
