Surrounded are we with all weve amassed;
Totems of memories present and past;

Each cluttered corner a story could share;

Recently attended a funeral where longevity of the departed was soundly invested in the many lives present. /'/Please, remember me/'/ is likely the final, departing plea of the ego (as /'/I love you/'/ is the final true expression of the heart), and it/'/s really made me think about what will remain when I croak it. Your poem brought this back to me, thankyou.

I suppose in a way that is the main reason I write......not for glory or fame, but just to be remembered by someone whose life I have touched with my words.
Touch a heart and you will always be remembered I say.
