[bodytext] => burning bridges all my life
never expected you`d swim to shore
`cause daydreams don`t come alive
and there was nothing I wanted more
life didn`t prepare me for
wonderful things walking through my door
laying down bricks and mortar
but I never finish what I start
usually drawn and quartered
a morbid, incomplete work of art
safe cliches, I fall apart
just a lonely, unloved bleeding heart
building up this foundation
you can`t have roots without a garden
or lightless constellations
what once was exiled is now pardoned
and this heart that was guarded
is once again wondrously ardent
now my space keeps expanding
but my planets aren`t moving away
and the view is outstanding
we only get closer every day
finding out how we portray
the dark parts we`d rather throw away
and through all the crooked steps
there`s been one unwavering reason
to correct all my missteps
even through the rainiest seasons
the one thing I keep needing
endlessly nurturing cohesion
now I look around this place
and honestly, I`m **** amazed
by every beautiful face
and this solid foundation I`ve raised
we rarely stop to appraise
the fires that don`t burn, glowing ablaze

I so agree. We need to stop to give ourselves credit. We praise others, yet neglect to recognize all the hard work we do just to get through the day.
I love this poem. It is a gift to all of us. A reminder of our value; and the amazing healing power of love.

A beautiful read about forgiveness, for others and especially for self, leading to improvement in overall quality of living. Your message is depicted clearly as creatively. Keep doing what you do best here. God bless you,
Deidra |

this is wonderfully so carefully written
NO, these things don/'/t usually happen for
any reason, none of the bad stuff, that is.
Then finding this, kind of love that looks at you,
like you look at something so full of Grace,
there/'/s this appreciation, that some people understand
is so unique, and even better than anything ever considered to be perfect, because it is.
It/'/s everything!
Peace! |
