my whole life
you have been lights flickered out
so I went without
you`ve been hanging over me
covertly
lingering in my background
nowhere to be found

now I`m staying up at night
just sleepwalking through my days
they think everything`s alright
but I`ve never stopped to stay
loneliness, exquisitely
holding me intrinsically
setting my whole life on fire
just to hide the truth so dire

that I`ve been running on fumes
through this gloom
foundations crumbling fast
my skies overcast
without you, never complete
just offbeat
tongue-tip lies to play it off
facades falling off

but nothing will change the fact
that I`ve been left in the dust
replaced and left here ransacked
breathless from this breach of trust
meaningless declarations
unspoken accusations
accepting all this silence
in my quiet compliance

and now we`re ships in the night
passing by
wearing smiles on the surface
of our lip service
like it meant nothing at all
tripped, we fall
lighthouse flickers in the dark
we hope for a spark [comments] => 2 [counter] => 84 [topic] => 22 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Your poem(s) always have to be read more than one to try and grasp what you are conveying. And they are well worth the reads. It/'/s strange to see someone you/'/ve been close to now as a former intimate.
I gather that was the topic.

Great poem full of angst and it has the flow!
