[hometext] => By the dawns early light.
[bodytext] => Never shall all of earth’s citizens meet;
On the same level; on the same street.
So long as we measure by language and color;
The value and worth of each sister and brother.
Were there no borders; and were there no light;
With less information; we might get it right.
Justice reminds us when judging mankind;
No blindfold is needed for us to be blind.

Justice, equality and simple respect for all is eloquently and simply stated here. This could be read in every school; elementary through high school as a paragon of how to regard each other, all in a simple, profound (oxymoron alert)
poem. I know you have an amazing mind to go along with an amazing heart. |

That last line is so layered in its depth. Borders and citizenships aren/'/t necessarily the issue, in my lowly opinion. Visiting different countries with their different cultures and points of view broaden the mind of one is sincere, but it/'/s where aspects of one/'/s creation which can/'/t be helped, nor are they blameworthy, are used to denigrate others. Knowing you through your poetry I/'/m guessing this isn/'/t what you meant anyway but I think difference is good as it compliments, as well s gives perspective if the two sides are introspective |

they were blind before they saw slavery.
I worked as a young kid, at the county hospital
that looked after primarily the indigent who could
never pay their bill.
And why were they indigent, would you ask each one,
would they be able to say?
And I guess it/'/s supposed to be unfair to ask too much for any society to figure that one out year after year, I guess that only because they don/t/ not because it/'/s impossible to do.

trying to get it right,
so sad are we as humans.... |
