I woke up this morning
only to realize I have forgotten where I’m from
As I watch the people
I realize I have become seriously numb

From a world
into which I was originally born
As I grew older I chose a different path
sitting here I realize my inner self is torn

A bit confused
or is my realization suppose to be this way
Opening my eyes
to see how I am now living each day

Just when I seem happy
someone tears my feelings apart
It’s when I become confused
and wish for a brand new start

Having started over more than once
creating a reality in this world that I live
Happiness must be somewhere
oh to have it what must I give

This morning is no different
than any other day
The truth lies before me
my own path I pave the way

The people around me are so different
quite often I find myself in a negative mood
How long must I sacrifice
and try immensely not to be rude

I understand this completely. I could win $50 million in the morning and the smile would soon leave my face as the day wears on. The human mind was never designed to handle social media and it isn/'/t necessary for us to interact with hundreds of morons daily. Just thirty years ago we lived a simple protected life...... Great write!

We all can relate to your frustration and downright anguish. We are assaulted constantly by conflicting messages and challenged to accept them.
Fortunately as you point out in spite of your intent, every day is a new day. Erase the chalkboard and start over. Don/'/t let anyone write in your space.
Kindness to some is opportunity and invitation to make themselves important by diminishing someone else. Allowing them to be different from what we know, takes fortitude. I have never known you to be rude, but I have seen you stand taller than many in a quiet and patient way.
You are a man worth knowing.
