so many options, like a restaurant menu,
pick and choose which items
best suit my palate.
But my mouth seems too dry
to fully appreciate the savor
of these new cuisines;
tho they are quite fresh,
well prepared,
and, no doubt, more nutritious
than my usual burger stand.
Somehow
the burger stand seems more appetizing.

I know it is quite strange
to crave a tasteless hamburger
when filet mignon is on the table,
however, I think what I truly crave
is the familiar atmosphere.
People who understand why I/'/m there,
because they have been doing
the same for years;
keeping with the daily tradition
of quick and familiar.
Tho often fantasizing of gourmet,
new would be
too much of a bother to find agreeable.

And so stay satisfied
with the everyday grease ball burgers
and soggy fries. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 43 [informant] => nightwolf [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I think I wrote this :)
That is why they call it comfort food.
This was great......
Life is short, live it the way you want to live it.
Pass the ketchup please!!!

taste buds
connected to the brain
Ben Franklin drank beer and ate
only the heavies whole wheat breads,
along with apples, and sure venison,
your basic mutton of the day, if you will
But he was a scientist, and bold,
placing fabrics of different colors out
in the snow to see how they absorbed
the suns rays.

there/'/s a connection there
we are what we eat, I think he
said.

we are from the soil in some way
some concoction of insect and animal
genes, we are filled with microbe, some
good some not so good.

change your sense of taste
change your mind, the way your
brain operates, at least to some extent
Whereby one enterprising individual
might experiment

but if not, there is a place in Tecumseh, MI
where you can get the best basic burgers,
along with chili cheese fries, quite cheaply

Peace!
