No choice to be born here,
it just happened to be,
yet this American dream?
None of it/'/s free.

The horror is knowing,
we choose gilded cage,
at the cost of the world,
that views us in rage.

Third world for first,
seems a poor choice,
Yet Gandhi, Jesus, Siddhartha;
long dead, but all still have a voice.

Untouched by life, first to last breath: what a great line!
Entitlement is a curious animal. It makes us feel deprived somehow, after the price tag of our inflated hopes comes into view.
Truth be known, no one owes us anything. We are a nation of traders: my time for your money; my money for your goods.
You write some amazing truths here, the best of which is: When great leaders changed the way they looked at things; the things they looked at changed. And we can all do that for ourselves.

Yes absolutely true with the exception of the first stanza. In reality many here starve and suffer and live in poverty. However the world does think we live like your first stanza. This was great!

Nothing worthwhile is free..............

Oh so sad but so very true, the world mostly scares me.
I like "we choose gilded cage", we are given the illusion of free will in our lives.

I enjoyed this, thanks for sharing

Hello my brother

Sorry I/'/m so quiet. Great writer. Yes it/'/s true and nothing in life is free. No matter if you give up one thing for another freely or not it will cost a price. Some will approve and others won/'/t that/'/s just life. Great read. God bless

Greetings
Gert
