I took your smiling face off the wall and tucked you away

No longer will your picture be a part of my room

Just like you no longer being a part of my life

I took down your picture today

I didn't fight back tears, I didn't burn that piece of worthless paper I didn't do anything

For once I didn't break down

I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on

Yes I moved on

I've had enough of the heart ache and pain

I'm tired of people playing mind games

I'm sick of feeling something that isn't real

I still have her picture hangin' round
to take it down
would leave a hole in me
a scar to see
that I'm afraid would show
too much that I don't know
'bout what is real
that shows the hurt and ache I feel
I cannot yet
beyond regret

take down her smile

but I congratulate
your strength to graduate
beyond the wound
hopefully, I too will soon
And I'll have you to thank
but now I wouldn't bank
on me taking her down
I'm still her clown
At least I have your cue
and have the notion to

take down her smile

I needed to hear your poem this morning. Thank you. Chuckx.

... Incredible. It was ironic how I just went searching through this site for a little comfort and I ran across your poem at no better time. I just recently said goodbye, and I am still hurting over it- and I didn't stop myself from crying. And... this poem, it just really brought that smile to my face that I've needed lately.

Amazing! -Amy-

Doesn't the picture live on in your mind though.

Still I admire the poem. Good sense for every young person
