I am the warrior
and the teacher,
the mystic
and the preacher.
I am the master of the Way,
the water and the clay
the fire born of wood,
a human force for good
the idea and the form,
the lion for the lamb.
I take up the book of swords,
honed and cutting words
the law laid out as shield,
a vow to never yield
a promise to a friend,
‘Strive until the end!’
to the morning I announce
that I have come to pounce,
to those who will abuse,
it’s time to pay your dues.
