My dreams were left behind,
I considered the sacrifice worthy.
Not even once did it cross my mind,
That I would be better off lonely.

Missing opportunities, special things or sometimes just a meal,
Just so you could have that extra bit on the side.
Not a grain of resentment did I feel,
For your best interests I would always try to decide.

Mistakes I made a plenty,
Faults I have more than a few.
Not once did I think myself saintly,
Nevertheless I tried my best for you.

Now that I am older and having to battle,
You listen to others and have their gold glisten in your eye.
For just my love and open arms you cannot settle,
To get their approval you would rather tell your mother goodbye... A beautiful touching piece of writing you have here. Heart on your sleeve in raw form. Pure and vulnerable. Honest and warm. You will always be their love and wisdom. That you can count on. A fantastic poem full of depth. This is a great read.

My Darling

First the poem it self is beautifully penned,

May I offer this word? The word of God warns us of this very thing, by no means do I dismiss your feeling in fact I offer you my shoulder. I know its not what you would want, please don/'/t give up God may very well have his plan followed to the T. Look to God and trust that all will be well. I love you. God bless

Greetings
Rus

It took a lot of hear to write this. You poured your gut out. Totally relatable.

Best,

Fox

Lovely writing that every mother can relate to.
Our babes grow and separate themselves from us, so we ask, who needed whom?
Stunning how much mother needs the child!
They do come back however as strong people who grew because we nurtured for a short while.
The nest is not empty; it is obsolete.
Now mother must find a new self for a time until her children grow enough to know her value and return now and then to honor her.
That they survive on their own is testimony to a job well done.Be proud. Be patient. and Believe in them with all your heart. That is your gift.
