as you go about your day
are you dealing with some drama
that you created
as the old ones slowly fade,
I can picture you
as you moan and complain
saying you have been wronged again,
at home you are alone
and the only thing you can do
is text your latest friend.

you are taking pills
to relieve the stress
smoking to many cigarettes,
you take of the mask
you hide behind
you see that your make up is a mess,
and you get a sudden rush of fear
as you realize
your choices and your many regrets.

Late at night when everyone is asleep
in bed you are wide awake...
thinking about what you want to do
and dreaming of an escape,
but as you think of who
will help you out
that is when you realize
that
burning bridges
is a mistake.

Lovely indeed. I know a few of those. Lucky for them a sucker is born every minute of the day. A few selfies on Facebook will get them back on track again.
This was great. I enjoyed it.

A tale of awakening to find we have wasted our lives...and there is no escape.
Some build bridges to cross them, some to bring riches to their door. This is a powerful write that asks us to measure our place and our future before our future measures us!
I used to think beauty would bring me anything I wanted and there would be no price to pay. Foolish girl. A lesson I learned in time: as you say, burning bridges is a mistake, and all you can expect with certainty from this life is that which you bequeath upon yourself.
I look forward to your future observations.

Great flow and storytelling. I have always enjoyed reading your writes, but you have really upped the ante lately. I may have mentioned it a time or two, but what/'/s the harm in once more?

Keep it up!
