Array ( [sid] => 183654 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Start to Finish [time] => 2016-10-11 20:47:30 [hometext] => In youth we spend our gifts; in age we bestow them. [bodytext] => Let not joy slip through your fingers;
Grasp each scrap of love that lingers;
Wring the sweetness out of sorrow;
Spit the bitter; bite tomorrow.

Peel away this malcontent;
Seek the childlike innocent.
All will be while you can dream;
You are wiser than you deem.
Stronger than your life is long;
Lessons borne of war and song;
Fallen on your knees but then
Saw you rise to sky again.

When your dream is near your reach;
Grasp anothers hand and teach;
Youve the arms to carry two;
Has the world not carried you?

Life will gift you what you lack;
Guide and nurture; give life back;
Sorrow fades when it is shared;
Listen, while a soul is bared.
By the time that life reveals you;
Its too late to ever heal you;

Wear your scars with worthy pride
Guide the young and step aside!
One day they will know this season;
but for now, they need no reason;

To be brash and crazy bold;
Joyous, free, and unforetold!
You alone have seen the ending;
Bid them grow in sweet pretending!

Let them err along the way;
Joy with them each precious day;
Spare them words of future truth;
And toast a teardrop to their youth. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 134 [topic] => 21 [informant] => softerware [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Wonderful. How great the world would be if we all could live by these rules. We can here at YPDC.
By being generous enough to share our comments with others.

A beautiful poem as usual Jaye!

Dear Soft

Wise words indeed, spoken from a life time of success and misshap/'/s, if we had only known then what we know now, did we listen? Will the young listen now? I/'/m not sure, however we must still try as our piers tried with us, absolutely beautiful piece I love life poetry and this one is as good as any, thanks for sharing Jaye, God bless.

Greetings
Rus

A gorgeous piece of lesson here, Soft. Your bar is as high as ever, I note. So very, very nice to read you again. I feel, as I read your words, the embrace of an old friend, and the comfort wraps itself around me and and I feel better than the first word read.

Your poetry is always so delightful! Flawless flow, a positive message, and wise words. All of those things I have come to expect from your writes.

Thank you for sharing your talent.
