That we could measure every day, and know loves true amount;
Would deposits and withdrawals be balanced two to one;
And fewer hearts be bankrupted for insufficient funds?

If love required we build a bridge, for hearts to meet and then,
If it failed we had to stop, before we built again;
To resubmit the blueprints until the flaws were found;
Would we be better architects, the second bridge around?

If love came with a permit; and licenses decreed:
The steady long haul lovers, from the back seat wanna-bes;
Then everyone would know for sure before the romance started;
How many times you left the scene of someone broken hearted!

Before we blame that lost romance on lack of information;
Remember love does not break hearts except by invitation!
And frankly who would love us if they knew all that we knew?
(I doubt that I would date me, if I read my rap sheet through!)

Perhaps its not so wise to know a lover’s history!
Theres not much left of love when you extract the mystery!
Ill gladly face the dangers of an unknown mix and mingle;
And trust that well take ample time to find out why were single! I suspect not...

Excellent fresh take on mixing and matching. I suspect that in a couple decades we will be exchanging DNA profiles as part of the /'/mutual coupling/'/ - and it will STILL fail 49% of the time, because for all the possible fiddling and tweaking, as you right posit, sometimes less is more, mystery does not reside in the history, and love it too fickle to predict success.

You are so wise. Once again, I am humbled and blessed to read you.

what is that old saying
/'/The chase is better than the catch/'/...
it is so true that the fun is in getting to know the unknown
as we adventure into love.

Many times I/'/ve pondered this very subject. Many a times I/'/ve ask questions the answers I/'/d much rather not know. But we humans just have to know and when we do we wish we never knew. Strange, that we are. Beautiful wise message here. God bless

Greetings
