If you didn’t know any better,
You would think she really has it together.
If you saw her walking down the street,
You wouldn’t see her miss a beat.

She carries a certain attitude of confidence,
Inside her mind are thoughts of remembrance.
Outside she appears solid as a stone,
But inside she feels empty and alone.

Laughing and joking with family and friends,
Nobody realizes how her world had ended.
Ended the day she lost her other half,
Ended the day the world slipped past.

28 years with her life’s true love.
Until the day that he was called up.
They walked together hand in hand,
Now he is off in the promised land.

Broken hearted, feeling lonely and dejected,
It’s a feeling of being neglected.
Something she hasn’t felt in so many years,
And yet, no one has seen her tears.

Her feelings are not so easy to hide,
Strong exterior, but oh so weak inside.
She longs to be held, feel a gentle touch,
A couple of things she misses so much.

Everyday this is a burden she must bare,
Like a badge on her sleeve she must wear.
Carrying on day by day,
While in her mind she hears the music play.

Recanting the music of “their” song,
A dance that couldn’t have been “Too” long.
Time spent dancing heart to heart,
Thinking back rips her apart.

So now she takes it one day at a time,
Pretending that she will be fine.
For weeping is not an option for today,
Strength will carry her away.

So if you see her in the hall or on the road,
Consider the price of her toll.
Consider the price she has paid,
Consider what she lost that mournful day.

Keep her close in your thoughts and in your mind,
Be patient if she starts to fall behind.
Remember the load that she tries to carry.
Don’t judge her if she becomes weary.

For she will surely be on top again.
What she needs are understanding friends.
Those that will let her be who she wants to be,
Until the day she comes back to me.

Oh my gosh that was so many things. Sad was one. I felt abit like hey shes writing part of what have felt. I understand on a small level your pain, but no one can feel your loss like you do
Im sorry you have to go through this. My heart goes out to you. Take heartin knowing your loved one is in a better place. Still loving you.
As long as you love someone they are never far away
