SO precious...

Contributed by LadyCC on Sunday, 3rd July 2016 @ 12:38:42 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

How long is a minute?
Do any of us truly know?
Can we fathom how fast time flies?
Will we sometimes think it too slow?

So many different answers.
Endless options to consider.
Way too many questions.
With results being anything from sweet to bitter...

Ask the mother in the throes of labour.
OR
The mother feeding her children by being someone else/'/s slave.

Ask the father waiting outside the labour ward.
OR
The father staring at the freshly dug grave.

Ask the survivor of a freak accident, a horrible crash.
OR
The boxer on the floor after that knockout bash.

Ask the child of a soldier counting days for her hero to come home.
OR
The husband of the sick wife who finally has to go home, for the last time, all alone.

One minute too soon, you might just miss it - One minute too late, it could be forever gone.
The one not knowing the worth of that 60 seconds,
The other missing the closeness while staring at the empty walls.

No matter who asks the question, irrelevant who replies -
One minute can last a lifetime or can
be over before you blink your eyes....
