standing raw and naked
before untold fears
Shadowed with imagination, hopes and fantasies.

The leaves chuckle unseen
In a gathering darkness.
One knows they are there
waiting the caress
that follows the winds hot sticky breath

It was only yesterday
under a gentle sun
where grew deep rich grass
beneath the loving toes of a graceful arch
A pirouette turning a perfect timeless ankle
upon whim of romance
twirling, twirling
falling, falling...
following the setting sun
Arm-in-arm upon
a passion stitched quilt of leaves
sewn in a golden tearful embrace
enveloping us
within their dark and dank perfume of forever love.

Breaths exhale before such sighing glory
for where it sets
it also rises.
Sands falling one-by-one
like weary boulders
that can not help but fall
Tugging, trembling
at the epic of time
clutching with it a shawl of darkness
where footsteps part
and cease in pairs.

The forest is now black with darkness
pitched with fear
standing naked before the void
while leaves rustle like ghosts
whispering "have faith...
you know we are here
even before the sun rises...
And those no longer here
shall also rise again
born into something new
and cherished.

"See!
the grass is gone
but in its passing
seeded tapestries abound
and mud...
also has its charm
the brown, umber, and chocolate ooze
squishing between the toes
painting arches
with childlike smiles of what came before
and what shall come again
and what lives on within us
again and again
and those footsteps beside ours
again and again.
