Dearest Mike
There is much between the lines here, and I/'/m not about to presume to know it all and even less do I wish to expose what I think is going on here. All I pray is that you are at peace with what instigated this poem. Remember you have a brother here in Africa that always has an ear to lend you. God bless
Greetings

A truly macabre little tale, shrouded in mystery and innuendo. Seems the muse is in a black mood this cycle of the moon for many have contributed delicate webs of veiled frustration this week.
You are always sensitive to the pulse of others; and at risk of sucking up their pain. Think twice, indeed..

I`m not thinking anything to dark here more like "what did I do that for..maybe a child making mistakes.
the title brought me here, I like certain words, Regret is one. |

Wonderful, but /'/Child/'/s/'/ should carry an apostrophe. |

...burned without a fight....
Sometimes we don/'/t put up a fight because regret cons us into believing we deserve to be burned....
Spoke to my soul, well done.
