Or rather, the less we recall!
There’s more gaps and spaces,
Between names and faces;
So who can keep track of it all?

When I was a new hire; I spread like a wildfire;
But now I’ve a new kind of fame;!
It takes me so long, getting where I belong;
That frankly, theyre stunned that I came!

So I’ve turned in my watch; tugged my belt up a notch;
To spend lazy days in my garden!
Take a walk with my dog, or saw off a log;
Content to leave others the stardom!

Renowned when we’re hired;
Alas, when retired;
You instantly forfeit your fame;
The business goes on;
Friends say when we’ve gone;
I sure miss good old whats-her-name!

Dearest Soft

What a beautiful piece on the circle of life. Yes what you say is so true and most would add yes so sad. However I would like say there is so much happiness and positivity in this piece. Yes we get old, slow down, forget things and places, but we deserve it its our right we lead the way carried the torch, we set the standard, past on wisdome, contributed to society. Now someone else can do it, we rest now. Thank you for reminding us of how much we have done the value of it, absolutely stunning piece sister God bless you

Greetings
Rus

this reminds me,,,

of working in the old sawmill in the winter, wishing
I was still in high school.

of getting lucky, changing my ways, of an old secretary
who told me to listen, and act, not react

what was her name, not Diane, no.. her name was
Jane

This takes me back not only when times were tough
but when I thought 17 K / year was a princely sum.

And hey, they all said, so you dropped out, go to college young man, which I eventually did.

Yes yes yes... I do remember it all now.

The guy who I meet in the morning now, his name is Dennis, he/'/s seventy one, rides his bike to work
as a security guard from eleven at night until
seven AM, /'/cause he needs the extra income...

You know most reasons why we enter the job force in the first place and most the reasons why we struggle
together to make a better world

too many of us do forget/ maybe..

all the little tricks, all the hopeful inquisitive questions
I struggle with from time to time

myself I know, do not come from me.

I do know that!

I think you do too softerware, I think you do too!

And I thank you for that, big time!

Peace!

Dealing with getting old is adventure all in it is self
just remember
they do not make em like us anymore.

Quit scaring me! ;-) Haven`t lost my memory yet. It simply reacts slower.

Once again, thank you for an enjoyable read.

perfection..flows flawlessly. Canters through a field of words. I so admire your skill, Soft.
