I am your longest ex-lover, one-night stand
Sand through hour glass, year by year
You never could let go of what could have been
You decided that I was the object of your desire
But I am a fool in love with somebody else
Someone that I can not have, yet

I can not tear you down when you find your way into my heart
I can not denounce you when you find yourself waking up next to me
After you have seduced me... or I have seduced you
You are a fool to get into bed with me and my selfish lack of commitment
You are playing with fire and you will get burned
I am not gentle with you, for how can heartbreak be soft?

We are both fools in love with someone that we may never have
