Nonchalantly strolling in through the front door.
Totally clueless on what to expect.
And with my misguided opinion.
Of how I would live alone.
I proceeded.
As usual my big mouth arrived way before me.
I was here just to visit our little princess.
As time lingered on through the day.
The bigger picture took shape.
I saw what you wanted me to see.
The thought mulled in my head.
Was this meant to be?
Or am I just hoping it so?
Oh as we spent time together.
It kinda grew on me this sweet thought.
Albeit that I’m not sure.
Should I stay and snuggle with you?
Or get up and disappear through the door?
Then it happened our bodies met.
Quite discretely at first I might add.
Lounging beside me on the coach.
Your tiny soft foot brushed up softly against my leg.
At first I paid it no attention.
Then involuntary, or I’d like to think so.
My hand gently floated down onto your foot.
I don’t think you noticed at first.
Well not until the warmth of my hand.
Seeped through your frilly night socks.
Onto your gentle soft skin.
Shyly you glanced my way.
I pretended to look the other way.
But my heart was picking up the pace.
My mouth became dry as the desert.
I started to quiver ever so gently.
And before I could ask myself.
What the hell are you doing?
My hand was on your thigh.
Almost, just almost too high.
That’s when I heard you gasp.
Turning slowly I looked your way.
Not quite sure what to think.
Was it fear?
No, excitement in your eyes.
All I know is I had to have you.
And when you rested your hand upon mine.
And gazed so softly into my eyes.
There I knew you wanted me too.
But this, this was not to be.
Just a simple old one night stand.
Your eyes lovingly and completely confessed.
What my heart so desired.
For too long we were apart.
Is this, where we find each other again?
Is this the new start?
Only time will tell.
For now I’ll simply let my heart smile.

A moment forever captured in time that can/'/t be taken away no matter the circumstances. A treasure for the heart that cannot be stolen. Maybe our minds wander into the future but sometimes it/'/s best to enjoy the present and cherish every detail. There was a playfulness and innocence in your words that I thoroughly enjoyed. It made me think of the good times. Great job
