Array ( [sid] => 18301 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Touch of a Friend [time] => 2003-05-31 04:35:00 [hometext] => When love changes
What do we do
Do we let it turn to hate
Or follow it through
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [bodytext] => Touch of a Friend
You say you still love me
Nothing has changed
Aww but my love
Your heart is estranged
You stopped wanting me
A long time ago
Stopped needing my touch
Yes, you see I know
You cannot hide from my heart
He’s feels you too deep
He has known for a time now
You’re no longer mine to keep
Perhaps you do not know it
Have not listened to your heart
And fight to keep it loving me
Too late ! It wants to depart
There’s no urgency
No hunger for my touch
No more wanting all we could steal
Your heart has changed that much
You need me as a friend
Not as lover or man
And I'll be the very best
Friend that I can
But forgive me if I run
Maybe hide for a while
I’ll get over it soon enough
Come back with a smile
And I will love you
Until my life’s at an end
Only now my touch
Is that of a friend
russ this is really such a great poem, but im compelled to say that if the two of you were in love and she reduced you to a friend, its quite possible the next thing will be nothing at all, it doesnt work, just had that happen to me, hurts like hell too, lol, my heart goes out to you, hope for you its true; or that it is only a dead on write:) ~hugs nessa
Russ,
Your heart is beautiful kind sir,, it takes two to revive a smoldering love,, if both are not willing you are right. Sometimes it can be done as in my case.
