You smugly proclaimed
As you ran your fingers through my hair
The wind blew us so strongly
Against the sea and the sand
Our hearts had grown apart
Lost their spark
Now that we are intertwined
Together once again
All alone on the boardwalk
The darkness of night led us to explore
The feelings and emotions
Once ignored
A fiery new love that used to be
Snuffed out by grief and hardship
Maybe never meant to be
Emotions raging and combusting
Separated by distance
Our love even with persistence
So strong in memory alone
God only knows
Will it stand the test of time

This is full of wisdom and soul. A mature hand at work crafting another piece for the reader to feast on. Great job

Intriguing title that bound me to a desire to read further.
I/'/m pleased to say that it wasn/'/t just a cake with icing and nothing inside......there was real content there too.
Nice write

Steve

Loving what is familiar and fearing change keeps couples together as surely as children do!
The familiar is safe, and so then, are we.

Memory is strong and comforting, even if we adjust the memories to suit us!
Such a luxury to be able to come to the crest of a hill; look down at the daunting landscape below, and choose to go back! Given the reality of life, many of us are better off walking alone than sleeping with the enemy!
Your case is the exception, and well said!

//Great concept. New relationship = you`re taking a chance.

I`m currently in a relationship with my solitude and I cherish it a lot. But I am dating others too, my dog and my air conditioner.

Thanks,

Dugan
