Are fishermen casting where fishing is best,
They say to themselves what are known magic words,
Catch me some fish or I'm here for the birds.

Now, there's nothing so wrong with a day in the sun,
where the winds whip about and the day's just begun,
With the boats zooming by throwing spume in your face,
You pause thinking why you have picked out this place.

It's now getting late, it's almost ten o'clock,
Had I gone here alone, I'd be off this dock,
I Can't let them know how I hate this show,
My wife sure was right when she said, "Don't go!"

I soon did eat, then I began to bleat
LIke a wooly sheep who was lost in sleet,
There is just no point in self-abuse,
I was no better off than a ute papoose.

The afternoon went as it usually does,
but my brain felt a lot like a ball of fuzz,
They say they saw that my mouth had foam,
With eyes aglaze, it was time for home.

Peer pressure did not get it's wish,
They asked when again we'd all go to fish,
I said,..thinking Poe's bird's, 'Nevermore',
"When ice covers hell and not before." [comments] => 3 [counter] => 659 [topic] => 7 [informant] => norm [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

Hey, Norm...loved this so much... I love fishing...but I only start after I see my husband catching....
The definition of a fishermen---> "A jerk on one side waiting for a jerk on the other side"
