Or should I run toward the people/'/s light?
Should I go through my path a hackin/'/?
Or should I do what they say, what they think should happen?

Should I stick with people/'/s perception?
And run along with my reputation?
If I just succeed to this nation?
It would save me a whole lot of aggravation

Or should I be loyal to my character?
My inside, what truly does matter
It screams louder than all I/'/ve heard
It/'/s everything, my name, my deeds, my word

Character versus reputation
I/'/ll tell you something

Character one
Reputation nothing

yeah, be real.
But listen when someone says something critical too.
the person who will tell you the truth about you is usually a friend of the best kind, full of character to boot.

what makes us good
if we perceive we are good
and smart, we might act the part
but one can/'/t just tell you that if it isn/'/t
really true. You sense it when someone says
it just to be nice.
But when someone is trying to be nice to you, they can/'/t be all that bad so don/'/t get mad.

what is that old sociology term, I might have this wrong, it was so long when I took the class, I think it/'/s
secondary deviance. When because others perceptions of you are bad, you become bad, or act differently than you normally might.
So, we had this group get together, which I highly prescribe for all friends or adult family members to do, a night out adult party where you drink if you want and you talk if you want, about whatever is eating you, maybe nothing is, so then you listen.
I want to find more about people and that is a good way to get people talking. You know, you serve maybe a light dinner and wine and beer and you discuss stuff.
Stuff like where each one is going in their life their hopes and dreams. Even talk politics - but don/'/t go nuts on someone because they don/'/t agree. We call it crazy night. It/'/s about having fun. Fun that is of a human type.

Peace!

I have to say, both Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman would be preaching this message. Emerson however, like a mix of Thoreau and Nietzsche.

Anyway, the idea is to be by yourself to better understand your self, and to better appreciate what it is you know and have. To help establish yourself an independence. The. Afterwards, you can take time on occasion to meet people and share with them new perspectives and they you, and you/'/re certainly right about how one who calls out your faults can be the best of a friend. I know mine was/is.

It/'/s always good to hear people remembering that social opinion is far below that of righteous action and self-construction.

Exactly
Treat others as you wish to be treated and your reputation will take care of itself.
Great write ( right) :)

Reputations can be one/'/s down fall at times
do what is right
is better
than keeping up with a reputation.....
