so much silence filled the space.
All I said was that I love you ...
no emotions crossed your face.
Not so much as a stutter
my words were just ignored.
Not anger or excitement
you just looked a little bored.

We held hands as we were walking
then all conversation stopped.
I held roses that you gave me ...
I saw your face, the roses dropped.
Sometimes roses have a meaning
this time that meaning made me cry.
The pregnant pause was just you wondering
how you would say goodbye.

Once the words were uttered
there was a brief sigh of relief.
Your sigh I/'/m sure an accident
I was in shock and disbelief.
We had been walking near the ocean
with your red roses in my hand.
Now I watched as foamy tide came in
and covered them with sand. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 225 [topic] => 22 [informant] => ever1der [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I/'/m just imagining those roses floating away into the distance. Being taken away by the waters and getting covered by sand. As if they were saying goodbye too. The feels this poem gives me man.

Wow, this actually carries a pretty cool flow to it. The lines almost flow in a way in which you can even hear the sound of waves. I was in a similar situation, except I wasn/'/t dating the girl. Tried to call it off. I felt like I had to, but with my honest she still asked me to stay. With my honesty, if she still wanted to be with me, then by golly I would be with her. It was a short relationship, but I feel it certainly helped shape me for the better. In some extents.

Nice job. :)
