Takes her seat in front and sets herself up
For the class that's most needed and certainly wanted
For the fellow running it has gotten her attention

Going on about the makeup of the world and all its reactions
She takes his notes and admires his helpfully bright disposition
His smile's gettin to her and her heart goes a flutter
If only she could talk to him without having to stutter

She'd say teacher, teach me how to solve this
Problem of balancing work and play
Teacher, show me the methods, the solution
Teacher, teach me the right way to love

Careful to impress she works hard to express
That her grade in his eyes is priority even under stress
She smiles as she soaks in his priceless insight
And is glad she can learn while enjoying his presence

She thinks, teacher, teach me how to solve this
Problem of balancing work and play
Teacher, show me the methods, the solution
Teacher, teach me the right way to love

Oh teacher, teach me back into reality
Teacher, I can't stay here in this insanity
Teacher, for the sake of the one above
Teacher, I can't stay trapped in your love

So she packs up her books and takes a stand
As the lecture concludes she now understands
That this fancy of hers is a true facade
She then looks up and thanks God above

To herself she says
Teacher, you taught me how to solve this
Problem of balancing work and play
Teacher, you've shown me the methods, the solution
Teacher, thank heavens you taught me the right way to love

Wonderful, Deidra! Like James said, it took me back. I could actually see the hallways and hear the multitudinous chatter of a 1000 young voices.

Thanks,

Invierno
