Nuanced by even the subtlety of her tone.
Cashmere waves of nothingness dispensed from her talk
as nearby couples share “I love you’s” over the phone.
Before we proceed, of past regrets I offer a mention
Before she resists my overbearing attention.
This little damsel, she cannot hide from my charismatic cowardice
Manipulations set aside, I too am powerless.
Witty banter sparked throughout, what a pity, our last and final bout.
Our saunter stopped to a halt as just ahead I realize all my faults
She too now escapes, she too carries on unscathed.
I, solely I again, tireless and unassuming clueless as to what I am now pursuing.

"She too now escapes"..an interesting description.
You had her in your sights and she got away?
"I, solely I again." That line speaks volumes for all of us!
People come into our lives and exit just as quickly..there is no keeping them; no guarantees: ask anyone. We can't own others, and we ourselves cannot be bought.
Freedom is a joy and a curse; a teeter-totter that we call ride! You have described the dizzy aftermath of a quick ride to a dead end. This is quite honest and solid in its foundations. Tell us more.
