So it was with Gordon's brother
Flash his common moniker
Reputedly a savage monster

Imposing boulder of brawn
To add effect, hair worn shorn
Avoided Flash like the plague
Feared incurring his vaunted rage

The August contest of Color War
Teamed me with this wild boar
Sought exit through a backdoor
Expected I would not survive the tour

Quickly relieved of despair
Discovered Flash was a gentle bear
Deferential, respectful, warm, and kind
Rumors pinned on him were lies
Herein, before forming an opinion
I'd first like to meet the guy

The game required us to hide
Flash volunteered forward guide
Halfway down the crater
Carved by a glacier
Heard somebody falter

Don't know who jarred the hornet's nest
But Flash took the hit for us
Swatted the swarm
Ordered all get gone

Raced for shelter over the diamond
Flash served as guardian
Protected our ad hoc clan
Stingers stung his legs and hands

In the casino, where it would end
They plucked needles so he'd mend
Flash laughed, recovered his command
Revealed a man among men

The currents of time scatter people to the wind
From that moment on, never saw Flash again
He resides in my yesterday
Not a villain, but a friend [comments] => 1 [counter] => 170 [topic] => 43 [informant] => rumrunner [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I would like it more if the rhymes did not feel forced into parts of this.
