Sitting all by myself feelin' lonely
Tears that trickle down constantly
Should be of a distant memory

Always there by my side
Near, far, and when I cried
Anger in myself Is the first to unfold
Then sorrow comes, and I'm left in the cold

It comes in waves, creates a boom
Unleashes tidal waves in my heart of a tomb
Washes away all the happiness in sight
Leaves me in the dark of night

Unleashes tidal waves in my heart of a tomb ...

I have been hung up on this one line...Thinking; does that make sense? Heart of a tomb? As opposed to tomb of a heart...Then I re-read the poem as a whole, and put it in perspective. Depression is a funky place. Chaotic, both empty and too full, and nonsensical all at once. So truly, where better to put a backwards thought? It sprouts poetic roots the more I chew on it...And hey; a poem has done its job if the reader lingers on the page to mull it over. If I'm being honest, that line becomes *the* poetry in this piece, so kudos to you for writing this just the way it was meant to be.
Keep writing for you, because that keeps things interesting.

Ahh...sorrow, such a trusted friend its been for me over the years. Sadly, Friend Sorrow is one companion I can count on. More so than unfettered happiness, for sure, for sure.

You are way to cool to be "Sitting all by myself feelin' lonely".

I hope you truly understand that the way you share; the honesty and courage to face yourself and lay it out there for others to experience, makes you unique and special. Take pride in that- it's true as pecan pie is sweet.
