You know, I can't quite ascertain the intended meaning of this, but I do have one I take from it after a little research.

Spilling into ink, as thoughts into words displayed.
Distant glitter of eyes, others who we see, that are not truly around.
Betting on the dark horse, I'll get to this in a sec.
Ring around the roses, same.
We're all a little tetchy, same.
Hiding the 'words', I suppose along the lines of supposed privacy, or in terms of sending our words as data, almost in the sense of anonymity.

But I looked up ring around the roses, and as it turns out, according to wikipedia, the song isn't even about the Bubonic/Great Plague as many say it is these days.
The song refers to curtsies around a central person, or so it's most commonly believed. So I attribute that to the attention in that respect.

The Dark Horse, I attribute it to constant misinformation that we come across on social media.

And tetchy part, we're letting a lot of these things we come across on social media to make us irritable, when in reality, it's just its own distraction of a form of entertainment.

So I suppose that's my two cents. lol

I see this as a note on the disingenuous of the digital world we now inhabit; and not by choice, but by force.
