You said it for me.
I struggle with this daily.
I see so many people who care about nothing but themselves.
I also have finally realized that you can not force others to do the right thing. My personal life is fine.
But I suffer the ills of no resolution. What I see today in the world slowly crumbles my soul.

Only you have the power to keep you from losing you. You're smart, sensitive and courageous enough to explore your agony through verse. Most do it through the bottle, though for ages I did it through both.

Being sensitive to life, as you are, comes with a velvet curse. Take that strength and use it as a shield to both observe the world around you and to protect you from it.

You are special, Ash; tell yourself that. Tell yourself, "I am special and I will the world to me".

You have a purpose. Know that.
