An acceptance of being apart
A desire of happiness for one another

I have never wanted to hold you back
I have only wanted to build you up
With a love mighty enough to set you free
Gentle enough to catch you when you lose your footing
Brave enough to step aside
Solid enough to always be there

And yet it tears me apart inside

My heart does not break with your ability to love
My heart bleeds from the selfishness found inside of my own [comments] => 5 [counter] => 278 [topic] => 75 [informant] => the_unknown [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

I like the heart you pour into this poem.
I hope I am like this when I fall in love

Great write!
The kind of poem you don't want to read if you're
not holding up your end in a relationship..........

Nice work!
I could tell as I read this poem that you really poured your feelings and heart into this work!
I really enjoyed it. :)

well, let me tell you, I have a new criteria for love:
Love should be:
Mighty enough to set you free
Gentle enough to catch you
Brave enough to step aside
Solid enough to always be there.
I read this to my husband, who whistled "wow".
The last time he ever had that look on his face was the day he met me.
I think I'm jealous. :)
This is seriously breathtaking. Hats off to you!
