Beautiful Soul

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I've never met such a Beautiful soul
One that's quite like yours
It's something that hasn't gone un-noticed
It's truly something to adore

For you are very softly spoken
A gentle heart I can see
A loving mother to her son
Your most-likely out of my league

Your hair is long and beautiful
Eyes are Ocean Blue
I'm really hoping that when we get out of here
That one day I can see you

Not for what you may be thinking
For that is just not my style
I just think we would make good friends
A friendship lasting for a long while

It's really crazy that I'm even writing you
For normally I'm not this brave
But ever since I lay-ed my eyes on you
My mind has been dancing in a daze

I know I have a lot to work on
And I'm sure that you do too
But I'm confident nothing is impossible
Our kids make that statement true

So let me say it one more time
I like the person that I see
My hope is I made a good impression
To where you also like me

If friendship is your true desire
Someone to walk with through the storms
Then I would be a perfect fit
I would never make you mourn

But if it's not, then that's okay
I'm glad to of known you this short while
Just remember your a beautiful soul
And remember to always smile

Makes me think of someone with a checkered past reaching out to find a road back.
A jail or prison background comes to mind in the statement: "I know that I have a lot to work on and I'm sure that you do too."
I'm sure I read too much into it, but that is just my history speaking. I know the sounds; having fallen for them myself a time or two.
Keep writing and working on your craft. It is a tool that will get you where you want to go without collateral damage to others.

This reminded me of something I have always thought throughout my life - that some people come into your life for a long time, while other make only a fleeting acquaintance.
All add to our lives in some degree by their presence.
Nice work

Steve

A very lovely poem for this person.
I, too, have met people I just long to be friends with... Whether a friendship forever, for a time, or a short moment it never ceases to leave an impact.

I like the down to earth style of your poem. I was not disappointed to read this one as it was pure in nature. That is the best kind of LOVE.

Well, this feels so real
real is this thing a writer experiences
that makes writing about it easy
and pure and explains things
that stick out of the collective noise
The eyes are always darting around
looking for something well done
something real
the mind is controlling the eyes
and the heart
is saying yes or no
yes or no

I like this a lot because it
feels real, I already said that much

Well, it's good!
Quite.

Peace!
