One traveling amongst the cosmos,
Seeking out throughout these gleaming stars,
Just one brilliant shard, to match one's eager heart.

To love? This exquisite daring feat?
Dancing with a sword in hand, finesse.
Shall one succeed, two entities mesh, blur in grace.
Shall one fail, well the error will leave a grisly scar.

When one forgives and sacrifices?
Beckons the joy of one other, with understanding,
One then can see the smiles of others, with the numbing of pain.
A reflection of mimicry, exponential progress.

When we come together, in efforts to care?
When we take this anxious effort, and simply even dare?
We can do any number of these things,

To live, to describe such a thing?
One traveling amongst the cosmos,
Seeking out throughout these gleaming stars,
Just one brilliant shard, to match one's eager heart.

Super cool. You are right; love is not for the faint of heart. It takes alot to 'dare'. To dare to be hurt, to feel pain, loss.....

Only through the POTENTIAL of self-sacrifice can we find the greatest joy the heart can know.

While this is good it did not strike my heart as some of your other writes have. I like it as a secondary poem in a book of firsts. The depth of speech is there but the spark that makes the heart leap is diminished.
