She hit me again today,
I need you here
but you've gone away

Day after day
the years go by.
her sole reason for living
is making me cry

Mommy got remarried
said I have a new dad now
I tried to hide a tremble
When I caught him staring at my mouth

Daddy, where are you?
He hurt me again today.
I need you here,
but you've gone away

There's danger in his eyes
when he pushes me onto the bed
Whispering he'll kill me if I tell
but I think I'm already dead

I'm 17 now, daddy
I've fallen in love
Maybe things will be okay now
The pain, I can finally let go of

Daddy, where are you?
He broke me today
I need you here,
but you've gone away

Hands on my throat
Choking the life out of me
Feeling light as air
I don't have it in me to plea

You were the only one who ever loved me, Daddy
Where were you?
I needed you today
But now it's too late...
I've gone away. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 210 [topic] => 68 [informant] => ScorpionFire88 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fictional )

This hits too close to home for me. I can't say more.
