the stars align and tilt degrees
while language brings us to our knees,
and different paths converge and join
to confuse what theirs and what is mine

it’s a minefield;
a rutted space of gopher holes
and quicksand
to take a limb
or lose yourself

barbs and spears and treasured wares
go back and forth with too few cares
but currents shift so subtly,
and storm clouds rumble ceaselessly…

what a nightmare;
a tangled briar patch
of words and deeds
that mates good intent
to malicious acts

it’s a vast and tumescent sea of endless drops
that floods the dams,denies crops,
and swallows all the hopeful souls
who venture too far from its shoals.

This poem rings so true to me.
I have run a net business since 1996.
I lived by the sword and die by it daily.
The lazy and ignorant have found their home.
With all the good comes the bad.

In the end I do not believe our maker designed us
to absorb all of the information we get and certainly not knowing all of these people on a personal level. Too much of a good thing can be..................!

Ah, the Internet. A world within a world, sometimes full of crazy ideas, sometimes full of crazy people, sometimes full of everything and sometimes just full of emptiness.
I think you've summed it up pretty well here.
It will always remain a mystery

Steve

True indeed
And so by now we wonder
How could it be any different

I have personally met so many smart gifted young people who are kind hearted that set out with only one goal in mind

To make money
A lot of money

Tech is good but we must remind ourselves
Of ourselves

Peace!

Do you suppose their were similar warnings about the horseless carriage? I guess all new creations in progress are a bit unnerving, especially when there is no "quality control" and no one to hold accountable for our choosing the wrong path--which we are so fond of relying upon! You can't sue the virtual highway--but you can unplug it.
We are addicts of information..letting a machine entertain us.
What shall we do when the power goes out? softerware

Comprehensively covered with slick wordsmithery. I need to be a little more wary. I've invariably had a few sherbets when I indulge the various, risky analogies you cleverly deliver.
