oh how three years did fly.

For three fast years I wore you out

Your patina can’t be faked.

Farewell trusty hiking boots
I now will let you go.
Retire in yonder landfill,

Oh my sweet departed boots,
how I loved you so.
Why did you give up the sole?
Why did you have to go?

For many years
you’ve kept feet dry
from MN to D.C.
oh how three years did fly.

For three fast years I wore you out
from gardens to the lake,
from paved streets to mountains.

nice write. I can relate very well indeed. NOthing like a good pair of hiking shoes. I have 6 pair I use daily. Since I walk 4miles to work daily..... I wear out my shoes often, and having that pair you hate to part with... :)
