The heavens will hold my spirit
the rains will release my tears
All sadness will be gone
also taken, will be my fears

It is sad we have to part ways
eventually our time on earth is done
We pass on our family legacy
to a wonderful daughter or a son

I will be watching over you
listening when you call my name
I may not show up in the flesh
but you will know that I came

I will walk by your side
wipe away your tears when you cry
My body maybe gone
but my spirit didn’t die

Just know that I love you
I am so proud of how you all turned out to be
I am in the heavens now
and when you look up, the brightest star will be me

Carry on our memories and traditions
with your chin held high
I know you can do it
you’re my loving children, that’s the reason why

Of all the poems you've posted, I think this one is my favourite.

I like the idea that those we've lost are watching over us from heaven - it's like having a guardian angel.

Great write.

It is always a pleasure to read your inspirational poetry. You are doing the thing I describe in my poem "O'le Writer of the ages"

"Give light and life and liberty
renew the dawning day
when death and pale the circumstance
will one day fade away"

When you publish your first book I shall buy it.
