that he keeps in a box
The memories he has
That will never be forgot

The touch of a woman
on a litter piece of silk
Something they had
that can never be rebuilt

Why cant he go past
what he had in their lives
There will never be a point
where he can say all his goodbyes

Every day with out her
Is too many years gone by
He wakes every morning
With a tear in his eye

He wants to be with her
but he will just have to wait
God's not ready
to set such a date

He watches others
walk past his house
He is looking through a window
that is shrouded in doubt

through the clouds he sees her
as she walks alone
Looking down at hem
in what was a happy home

he wakes up one morning
And the tear is not there
the window's not clouded
And she is waiting with care

She walks through the doorway
and leads him by the hand
And that box of gold
Is left on the stand [comments] => 3 [counter] => 203 [topic] => 43 [informant] => texasman [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Thank you for sharing, this is an awesome poem. I love how the ending is where he has no more tears because his time has come and he goes to be with his wife.

Great write!

Wayne

I was listening to a good song as i read this
and i don't know if it were the song or the poem or the combination of both.....
