We gather by his side as his life does end

Soft as the air within God's quiet breeze
We watch as you pass on with gentle ease

Home, the next step, final memories at stake
I pick up the phone, so many calls to make

Music plays even as I press buttons to call
I ask you, can't you hear the music at all?

No, you say, there's no music on my phone
You sure you hear it; are you home alone?

Let me call you back, must be on my line
I hear some music but I assure you, I'm fine

Again I call, yet the music continues to play
Can't you hear the music, is all I can say

No, there's no music; I'm worried about you
Please ask dad, can he hear the music too?

Yes, he hears it; why can't you hear the song?
Yes, we hear it; it's been playing for so long

Wait, son, we watched you leave us today
Is this you; do you have something to say?

Its ok, baby, if you're trying to tell us you're fine
You can stop the music; you've eased our mind

The music just stops; he's found his final peace
Always by our side, safe in God's loving release [comments] => 4 [counter] => 188 [topic] => 52 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

Even though I am truly sorry for your loss, I absolutely love this poem!!!

I believe those who pass on are allowed a little window of opportunity to let those grieving loved ones know that they are okay now. Their way of trying to tell us they're fine now before they move on.

So glad he was able to get his message across!

Great poem!

Tim
