At the Monterey Fair
It's been many years
I hope to see you there

Although much time has passed
Like a burning star from the heavens above
The vision of you
Still burns forever bright

You were so young, wild and free
Like a simple flower in bloom
Growing up at its own pace
You were just happy to be

You left me way too soon
With nothing to fill the empty void
Sometimes I swear I see your smile
There on the face of the moon

When I dream of you
I see your beautiful face
With the warm loving glow
Of a very pretty yellow rose

I shall be there tonight in the flesh
You, there in spirit
A union I shall cherish
Without regrets

There's nothing I could ever want
Anymore than this
Simply being with you once again
Is what I live for until the Lord
Reunites us together again. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 382 [topic] => 22 [informant] => jamesstockdale [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I really like this! I too like to think the ones we've lost that have passed on can be with us. To go to a place you both shared in the past could be possible.

It also brought a lump in the ol' throat for me as I remembered someone I cared about so many freaking years ago.

Great write.

Thank you,

Tim

Whenever you lose someone you love, a piece of them usually stays with you. What makes it bearable is knowing that one day, you'll be with them again.

It's so very true. Great write.
