[bodytext] => Star Wars had their evil empire; complete with an Emperor and spooky enforcer. Trampling the rights of sovereign worlds for gain- pain to the conquered of least concern. How I despised them in my youth. By what right have they to inflict their will? Not having the galaxy to romp within, our world sufficing sans warp drive, evil men still play games; smaller yes, but quite the same. Countries, not worlds, fall to Earth's evil empire; ISIS, created to proxy war upon nations wise enough to keep out central banks, strong enough to hold out; even David would be proud in the face of ten thousand Goliaths. A fraction, this 'resistance'; these home land defenders, united and grounded in the same message of hope for survival against the Emperor and his evil minions. They wore white. Desert Cammo is the new White. Inculcated soldiers rationalize killing women and children- for country? So believed by rebuilt men. To late, atrocities and murder under their belt and on their soul, they find out they killed for oil, a pipeline, a better spot on the board. Military suicide rates kept hush-hush- the ultimate expression of remorse. And the people of the Empire in Star Wars; the citizenry; what of them? Where were they to decry the actions of despots? By engaging in the commerce and life of the Empire, they supported it; endorsed? Maybe not- but saying nothing, doing nothing to cease and stop the warring misfits- to do nothing is to passively endorse. With a chilling acknowledgement, I came to realize I live in that evil empire; the conquered are not worlds away, but miles. My engagement of this construct; that of war, sin and death, is to my shame; I am no different than those lame turds I scorned so in my youth; then a movie....now real life.
