It's really meant to be mildly ambiguous/abstract as well meaningful in the hopes that we understand that we won't always understand the people we meet, but we know each other more than we realize. [bodytext] => Solivagant adventurer
Hearing calls from the tombs of his former mind
Something that pulls him. From where, he cannot define
The former brain is now a beacon
And the voice that calls to him
May just be his own delusional deacon

He succumbs to silent claptrap in a falling upon his knees
Through miles of forest he has made his journ'
The mere glimpse of the symbols of his past
A single stone pillar in a small patch of grass
Along his sides are thousands all like him
A strangely soothing cacophony of cheers and hymns

Hiraeth has brought them here, but not hiraeth per se,
For the place at which they've arrived
Is not a remnant of their's or any's past
It's in fact symbolic of the larger whole
That no matter how plain or meaningless,
Everything will have so much to have dole

just reading this gives me shivers
exquisite how so many with all those words
never expressed would feel this
is about them and is
I feel bathed by a few words I never knew
Thank you !

Peace!

I reread this once more and I have to say thanks again.
Sometimes, truth be told, I read really good poems or prose, or listen to incredible lyric and feel a little sad that I didn't write it, as if I could...
But with this, I don't feel even a tad sad at all. It just makes me feel really good.
There's no ego attached to it. It's like understanding calculus in that way, I hated math in school, but when I kind of figured out calculus I wasn't at all saddened because I didn't come up with the process of it all by myself, not at all. I just felt so damn lucky to understand it, at least kind of, because it helped me understand so many other things.
It's like calculus when you strip away some of the problems and see a just tiny bit of the possibilities.
It's what we want, why we hope, why each of us is
gloriously unique. It is inspiration of the highest degree what you wrote here.
I'm someone who sometimes thinks they've read too much like a fool waiting for some sudden enlightenment with their own self which never comes.
Your poem means a great deal to a fool like me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Peace!

Well, this poem took a few reads and a few definition look-ups. (Having to look up a word is rare for me- not bragging- paying you a compliment) .

Not sure how I feel about this poem...not even sure I like it. However, I DO like YOU and what you write. Perhaps a pm would be of help in way of elaboration? You could help a simple mind.

Thanks,

Invierno

"Hearing calls from the tombs of his former mind." What a beautiful line with such truth behind it. Sometimes I feel like the past whispers to us, reminding us who we are, who we were, and who we are meant to be. Some days the pull is stronger, and sometimes just a subtle reminder of who we used to be. As memory fades and becomes an echo of what it once was, we lose who we once were, and become who we are now, but sometimes, we flash back and remember what it was like in the past. It is my opinion that loss of memory is one of the saddest things in the human condition. Nonetheless, it does serve us well when negative memories are involved.

This poem makes me think back and remember good times and reminds me that all of humanity is connected by the fact that they revel in their memories.

A positive memory can be an inspiration for art, love, or anything at all. Thanks for bringing them out for me to revel in. :)
