Day and night we work so hard.
Breaking ground forming furrows like paths.
With one goal in sight.
Focusing everything must be just right.
Planting seeds nurturing them.
Taking care of it like a rare gem.
Then just before harvest time.
We stare our self blind.
Against the impending storm.
Just yesterday the sun shone so warm.
In total shock we stand devastated.
All that work and time dedicated.
In our souls all feels lost.
Nothing came at too high a cost.
As we want to give up and shrivel away.
Looking at everything in disarray.
Something inside shakes us up.
Suddenly our spirits erupt.
We want to fight and live on.
Our shock and fears all gone.
That is how God put us together.
Giving us corrector to withstand any weather.

Hello Boet.

I like your poem. The message is clear and I stand with it. Life is like a planting, as you point out. Sometimes a bumper crop of happiness- sometimes a flooded field of woe.

Keep crankin' 'em out, Boet- I look for your wisdom.

Invierno

Great metaphorical poem!

God is good, God is great.

Thank you for sharing.
