oh yeah, the pristine
ideal we should be born
into but ain't
or maybe are
but can't be sure
enough to say

One way or another
If you live long enough
under the moon and the everything
that holds up our sky

The ground sure enough
does wriggle and shake

And yes we find ourselves in
for this ride
in for this ride
in for this ride

I remember walking out of
a night school art class
and looking into the urinal
it's smooth porcelain
perfection all white

except for the cigarette butt
and my own urine

thought I

Damn it man, Invierno
you know it.

Peace!

I like your style of writing in this. It gives it almost a comical sense to me, because of a light-hearted humor in it. I don't fully grasp the message, although for me, it usually has to be obvious in meaning, or weirdly abstract for me to really get it. Weird right? Lol

I did just wake up though, so I'll come back and read it, just to make sure I'm not over(or under)analyzing.

How you can say so much with so few words!
I love the line "It seems pristine goals are mannequins to life" and I agree, perfection is without passion.
At some point we must agree that what we wish may never be. And that is when we begin to see life as art, with all its faults and uncertainties, lumps and bare spots!
How difficult it is to see beauty in simplicity! We are such complicated creatures!
Bravo for your musing on "this and that", for our imaginations are the stuff life is made of!
And to our good fortune, your pen is the manifestation of your every thought!

I see you have been a busy beaver, writing away...I will have to catch up, but this one grabbed me...I now have an old hip hop song stuck in my head:

Engine, engine, number nine
On the New York transit line
If my train goes off the track,
Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!

Black Sheep, anyone? Good talk...Well, it specifically makes me think of the repeated reference in the song of 'you can get with this, or you can get with that...This or that...This or that...If you don't know the song you are most likely hella confused by now. Basically it is about making choices and owning up to our decisions in life.
The song is aptly titled; "The Choice is Yours".

Good poem. I like the style and content.

Whatever is going on here, it seemed musical to me and alcohol definitely found its way into it.

An enjoyable read.

Thanks,

Tim
