recently i read a poem
remembering how my mind did roam
and felt each drop of blood within
burn inside my lonely veins
i was in shock and disbelief
my love was dead and so was i
i wanted to be the one that had died
my voice was lost my eyes only cried

i breathed; slowly, slowly, so bereft
i reached out to my children
they were all of him left
my heart remains broken
i wish to turn back time
i see him in their eyes, smiles and ways
through it all i am lonely most days
i wait to die to be one with him again

poetry saved of me, any soul that remains

i have known such love returned and true
he leaves of death, i, the other, remains blue
as in life i know his thoughts, values, dreams
he knew me like no other ever will it seems
remainder of life this living one- feeling the lost one
right beside me, in heart, yet out of reach,
still i feel the burning loss, in soul and mind
life is not kind

There is great quiet strength in women. We cannot leave our children to raise themselves. This doesn't mean we do not suffer; but we survive; inspire, and rise above ourselves.
Women live for their children when everything else is gone…
Your lovely poem begs the question: what do men fight to live for?

This is beautiful. There is just such depth in emotions, such pain - to me, it all seems to be portrayed so exquisitely and yet so honestly.

If I didn't offer I'd find myself selfish, and so I offer to you, hugs and love. Not only that, but because we all deserve those two things, you just as much as anybody, and more for your kindness towards others in your taking part in this site's community. :)

I know not this level of pain,
I just may never too
It's quite difficult to wrap
Inside a youthful brain

But I wish to believe,
I wish to be the ever-present hands,
The comforting night-light in a darkened world,
That just ever so slightly exposes the good you grieve

I can't speak from experience
Nor evidence or theory
My life is the likes of hypotheticals
Innumerable memories on clearance

Cheap cost to make and keep
And thus often forgot when I go to sleep
But many more have shaped who I am for sure
This when it comes to lost love, I much prefer

My fears that I know
My concerns and worries,
Much like the people I love,
I have a hard time holding on, but they're easy to let go

Another poem missed! Glad I checked. Sad to read, but luckily you are blessed with the ability to express your feelings via writing. Also that you have the love of children to carry you through your days. Hug them tight and enjoy those many glimpses of your soul mate.

This is beautiful. Loss leaves an empty place in our hearts that cannot be filled by anything or anyone but the one whose empty place remains.

The fact that you can write such a beauty and truly move people solidifies the fact that you are meant to have many many many wondrously happy years on this planet if not solely for yourself yet merely to make us feel.
-As always a gem, Lenny.
