Thinking of how things might have been
I feel so sad, empty and void

Life is passing me by
With each sweep of the clocks hand

I want to feel
Alive once again
Sort of like a little boy at Christmas
With a brand new toy

A reason to be
Not some God forsaken
Want to be

I reach out for hope
But no one is there
I get nothing in return
But the thin air

Please God I pray
Give me a reason to be
I want to make the most of
What you have given to me [comments] => 6 [counter] => 361 [topic] => 65 [informant] => JamesStockdale [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

I like this. I suppose my sentiment for quite a few years has been something like this, only instead of asking for God's help, I've been feeling empty as I've had none, and wondering why I couldn't just develop one for myself, because the way I've looked at life recently, is materialism, meaning of life, purpose of life, heck anything for that matter isn't really worth worrying about unless it has any one bit to do with anything you care about or love.

So sometimes I feel like I love everyone, even though, a large percentage, and I mean a large percentage, I can't stand to be around. I know of people who make me mad, so mad I could fight them, but I still won't be the one to go around telling lies and spreading rumors. I've got better things to do than that.

Well look at that Jim. A brief poem, and all that it can make me think of. Haha. I think that fits into "Good poets tell you about their life, great poets tell you about yours." ;)

It's uncanny that I am reading this poem tonight. This is exactly how I have been feeling lately although I have so much to live for. I've recently decided to get out of my funk and start living again....just just existing... Thank you for sharing this..

Seems to me that God has given you very little , in the direction of help. Give him a wide berth, and see if things improve. He just might be holding you back. I'm convinced that you'd do better on your own. Good luck!
