Perched high up in the tree
Neither an insect, nor a bumble bee

You may not see me
Know what I am
Blind to all things around you
Including little ole me

I'm just a feathered half pint
Many vivid colors abound
With a rather long beak
However I'm none too meek

I flutter all about
With amazing speed
Come to your house simply to feed

I attend to all your flowers and trees
With breakneck speed
No, not a honey bee

I liked this. It has a nice flow to it, that for whatever reason makes me think of a skip, or bashful kick, like the one where one looks at the ground blushing, and kicks their foot.
I don't know why that makes sense to me at all based on the way I'm reading it, but it's cute. Haha.

On top of that, the hummingbird is a beast. A busybody with no time to waste. Wings and a heart that beat so fast, the eye cannot even register the sight. Much like the important things in life am I right? ;)

A beautiful write about my favourite bird. There's one that visits my garden everyday and both my niece and I look forward to seeing it. We've tried very often to get a picture but was only successful once. Love your imagery....
